Safari 5.1 extension intro
Things might look a little different the next time you hit the 1P button, but that’s ok! Do not adjust that dial–we’ve redesigned our 1Password Safari extension in the name of usability, speed, and bringing you more updates more quickly. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new.
Usability
- You now have a powerful, flexible, and fast slice of 1Password right in your browser
- Our new extension interface puts much more of your 1Password information at your fingertips
- You can copy a password for Flash sites or verify an Identity’s info is up-to-date without opening the 1Password app
- 1Password’s capabilities are now front and center for new users
Speed

The new interface is optimized for both mouse cowboys and keyboard ninjas
-
Keyboard shortcuts:

More updates, better experience
Without getting into the technical gobbledygook, our redesigned extension makes it much easier for us to deliver updates more often and even automatically to supported browsers, even without updating the 1Password app itself! Plus, the new design is going to become standard across the browsers we support, so you get more new features and a consistent experience no matter which browser you use.
So take some time to check out the new extension and its great features. Read our full blog post if you want more of the story, and let us know what you think!
